Her professionalism and the incredible attention to detail shown by her team is matched by their enthusiasm to provide an unforgettable experience for everyone aboard.

Captain DAVID MCMORROW

David was born in London and has dual UK and Irish nationality. He comes from a family of sailing enthusiasts and harnessed his love for the water from an early age, racing dinghies, windsurfing, and he also spent a year teaching scuba diving.

Having started his career in the media industry in London, his love for travel and sport took him around Australia by camper van, following the British and Irish Lions in 2001, followed by a ski season in Courchevel. There, he had the good fortune to ski with a yacht Captain and learn about the industry and the rest, as they say, is history.

After qualifying as a yacht Captain, David had the privilege to Captain a number of superyachts, including ten years at the helm of Silver Angel, followed by Nautilus, a privately run, dual season yacht.

David joined Nero in October 2023, bringing his extensive cruising experience in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Indian Ocean and the United States.

When David is not captaining Nero, you will find him at home in the Cotswolds, with his wife and three young daughters, and a dachshund. In his spare time, he enjoys catching up on sport and spending time outdoors, running, cycling, hiking and skiing in the winter.

Chief Stewardess - SVENJA HINRICHSEN

Svenja is a fun-loving and dedicated Chief Stew who grew up in the town of Stellenbosch, South Africa, on a wine farm.

At university Svenja majored in psychology and geography, after which she completed her post-graduate studies in teaching at the University of Stellenbosch. Then, with a desire for adventure, Svenja decided to embark on a yachting career.

After an exciting first season, she decided to put her geography skills to the test and pursue her Master of Yachts 300GT, which she completed with flying colours. Svenja now has over eight years’ experience in the industry and has worked on multiple yachts, gaining a wealth of knowledge working on deck, in the galley and interior, on both private and charter yachts.

When Svenja isn’t working, you’ll find her on the beach or in the gym – challenge her to an arm wrestle, if you feel up to it!
